Self-Employment Game Plan

Self-Employment Game Plan: Do You Need One?

Here’s how to build a game plan for self-employment

If you want to become a successful self-employable, you need to figure out what you want to do and how you want to do it. In other words, you need a self-employment game plan.

What Is a Game Plan, and Why Do You Need One for Self-Employment?

A game plan is a strategy you build and execute to achieve a goal. For instance, if you want to bake a cake, you can make a plan to pick up the necessary ingredients and supplies, follow your baking recipe and prepare your cake to perfection. Or, if you want to learn to ride a bike, build a successful career or do anything else, a game plan helps you stay on course and achieve your desired results as quickly and efficiently as possible.

In terms of self-employment, a game plan allows you to determine the steps to make your self-employment dreams come true. To craft a successful plan for self-employment, here’s what you need to do:

1. Discover Your Why

Write down reasons why you want to become a self-employable. These reasons can provide a baseline for your self-employment goals.

2. Establish Self-Employment Goals

Determine your immediate and long-term self-employment goals. I recommend starting with three to five goals, then revisiting your goals at least once a month.

3. Monitor Your Results and Update Your Game Plan Accordingly

Evaluate the results of your game plan and make changes as needed. And remember, if you don’t succeed right away, keep trying.

The Bottom Line on Building and Executing a Game Plan for Self-Employment

Your game plan is a work in progress, so adjust it whenever you feel the need to do so. If you follow your game plan and work to your potential, you can become a successful self-employable.
